Hi I am new here, so just beginning. I have made three dolls so far, experimenting with different clays and such. The link to my three lovelies are in my webshots album Dolls made from paperclay & polymer. Here is the link:

The doll made from paperclay I was experimenting with, and I love this stuff. There is so much you can do with just a paintbrush and a sculpting tool. Her hands were rather large but I thought it was neat for a first try.

The 2nd one I took more time with, and used a fimo.the skin color was alittle dark, it was so difficult to find a flesh colored fimo. But I think I did much better on her hands.

Then I got the urge to sculpt with whatever I had on hand and my little naked beauty with a diamond necklace appeared. Usually my little people who creep out of the clay are ugly, but I was real pleased at the body and position I achieved. This was done with a mixture of sculpey lll, which is not the greatest but good to try and sculpt body limbs for practice. Well, I kept going on her and I had fun. Oh, forgive me if I have offended anyone with the pose, my favorite movie is Titanic and I simply adore the scene where she models the necklace and Jack draws her.( I attempted to do her as tastefully as possible, since it is a risque type of pose for a doll)I am going to try her again, this time I have the right hair and the right stones for the necklace. lol!

I have always wanted to create dolls, and now that I am doing it for fun, it's a great stress reliever. I'm mostly into creating accessories, and building, so creating dolls is a great relaxation for me from deadlines, etc.

Thank you for letting me join, this is a fun place!
